Baggage Allowance |
 |
The rules
for checked baggage depend on the route and class of travel.
There are two systems of baggage allowance- weight concept and
piece concept.
The following rules apply under the weight system (applicable
on a majority of the routes, excluding transatlantic routes):
20 kg (Economy Class, including Commercial)
Extra privileges for free baggage:
+ 10 kg for Business Class passengers & participants of
bonus programs: 'Aeroflot bonus' (silver card) and Sky Team
(Elite);
+20 kg (for passengers – participants of bonus-programs:
'Aeroflot bonus' (gold card) and Sky Team (Elite Plus).
For kids younger than 2 years traveling without a separate seat,
the free baggage norm is 10 kg.
On some routes, increased weight norms are set, therefore when
you buy a ticket please confirm the norms that are determined
for your specific route. In any case the dimension of one piece
of baggage should not exceed 158 cm (sum of three measurements)
for economy class and “Commercial” class, and 203
cm – for business class, “Premier” and “President”
classes.
The following rules have been set forth under the Piece concept
(usually applicable for USA and Canada)-
Business Class (Premier and «President)- passengers are
allowed to check 2 pieces of baggage within a maximum weight
of 32 kg each. The dimension of each piece should not exceed
158 cm (length + width + height)
Economy Class (including Commercial)- passengers are allowed
to check 2 pieces of baggage within a maximum weight of 23 kg
each. The dimension of each piece should not exceed 158 cm (length
+ width + height)
Extra privileges for free baggage:
+ 1 piece of baggage for passengers – participants of
bonus programs: 'Aeroflot bonus' (silver card) and Sky Team
(Elite);
+ 2 pieces of baggage for passengers – participants of
bonus programs: 'Aeroflot bonus' (gold card) and Sky Team (Elite
Plus);
Note: the weights of baggage pieces are not added together,
and if the weight of one piece is over 32 kg (for economy class
- 23 kg) the excess weight will be charged additionally, even
if the weight of the second piece is lower than 32 kg (for economy
class - 23 kg).

Additional
charges apply for baggage exceeding the norms of free allowance.

Delayed/lost/damaged

 |
For delayed,
damaged and lost baggage, please contact Aeroflot representative
at the destination airport immediately after arrival. |
| Sports
Equipment |
 |
Ski
equipment, (including water ski and ski boards (snowboards),
golf equipment is not included into the norm of free baggage
carriage and is subject for payment. If the free baggage allowance
of your ski equipment (ski or snowboard, ski sticks, shoes)
does not exceed 15 kg, it is paid as for 3 kg only. If this
allowance is exceeded it is paid de facto.
Golf set is charged as for 6 kg. But if your set exceeds 15
kg by weight it is subject to charge according to the valid
tariff for the non-standard baggage.
According to these rules only one set of one passenger is charged,
and these regulations are applicable on those directions for
which a weight baggage system is valid.
For those directions, which the piece concept is valid for,
there are special conditions for carriage of sporting equipment
cover only ski equipment (see above).
In this case when the norm of free baggage is exceeded, the
fee for the ski equipment will be 33% of the tariff for 1 piece
of non-standard baggage (one set).
Hockey sticks and athletics poles are not included into the
norm of the free baggage transportation and are charged according
to the tariffs for non-standard baggage set in both of the baggage
carriage systems.
For details on carriage of sports equipment, please contact
Aeroflot reservations. |
